I was lucky enough to attend Dr. Barry’s lecture: A New Paradigm in Orthodontics and found it to be inspired, articulate and unbelievably comprehensive. It was more of a dissertation condensed into an hour and a half lecture (or a TED Talk for dentists). The subject matter is incredibly fascinating and I am relieved to know that there are independent thinkers who are driving the profession to tackle very serious issues of the future.

Five years ago, Dr. Raphael and I started together to learn about myofunctional orthodontics and we have been on the path ever since. We learned then that there is more to a child’s well being than just straight teeth. We know now that at the heart of it, a child’s breathing, his posture, what she eats, how they sleep, is what is behind good facial growth. From there, the straight teeth come naturally. I admire how Barry is always trying to push the boundaries to offer his patients the best in this regard, and I am right there with him.
